07/11/2019 PRESS RELEASE | From 5th to 7th November, Madrid hosted the first transnational meeting of the European project ‘Learn Addiction’ in which addiction professionals from six European countries have participated. The FEDITO BXL asbl and Le Pélican asbl are part of these professionnals involved in the project.
This two-year project (November 2019 to October 2021) aims to respond to the identified training needs of addiction professionals across the EU. To do so, the project partners will develop the first open and multilingual e-learning platform for addiction professionals. The e-learning platform will be accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones and it will include the following modules:
- Module 1: prevention, intervention and treatment of addictions without substance.
- Module 2: prevention, intervention and treatment of addictions in young people.
- Module 3: the gender perspective in the prevention, intervention and treatment of addictions.
- Module 4: European drug prevention quality standards.
In this first meeting, the delegates from the six partner organisations have established the guidelines for the development of the e-learning content, reviewed the programme of work for the next two years and distributed the tasks according to each partner expertise.
Once the first development of the e-learning platform is completed, the project partners will test it with addiction professionals in order to assess how effective it is in delivering the target learning outcomes. The testing will simultaneously take place in six countries (Spain, Slovenia, Portugal, Belgium, Romania and the Czech Republic). At least 30 addiction professionals, 5 in each country, will participate in the testing from May to October 2020.
Based on the testing results, the project partners will implement the necessary improvements before the final publication of the e-learning platform, in September 2021, in seven languages (English, Spanish, Slovenian, Portuguese, French, Romanian and Czech) under a Creative Commons license. Thus allowing anyone to freely use it, modify it and build upon.
The project ‘Learn Addiction’ is an initiative of UNAD -The Spanish Network of Addiction Organisations- in collaboration with: UTRIP -Institute for Research and Development- (Slovenia), RHRN -Romanian Harm Reduction Network-, DIANOVA Portugal, SANANIM (Czech Republic) and FEDITO BXL -Brussels Federation of Institutions for Drug Addicts- (Belgium) and co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
